Homemade Crackers
Today Ryan and I tried a new recipe and made crackers. The recipe came from a food storage cookbook that only uses ingredients in a basic one month supply kit. It's great! The crackers actually turned out pretty good and taste like "Wheat Thins." Here's the recipe if anyone wants to try something different.

Wheat Crackers
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/3 c. white flour
3/4 t. salt
3 T. dry milk powder
3 T. sugar
5 T. oil
1 c. water
In a medium bowl, stir together dry ingredients, add oil and water and mix. Knead dough about 3 minutes on a lightly floured surface. Divide dough into 4 pieces. Roll out one piece of dough at a timeto a 16" x 12" rectangle. (I had a hard time with this, but I just tried to get it as thin as possible. We also rolled it out directly on an ungreased pan which was easier.) Place on an ungreased baking sheet and cut into squares with a pizza cutter. Prick each cracker with a fork. Sprinkle with salt. (We didn't sprinkle them with salt and they tasted good.) Bake 10-20 minutes in a 350 degree oven until golden brown. The browner the crispier, Yum! Remove from cookie sheet and cool. Makes about 200 crackers.
