Thanksgiving in Nashville
Our family spent Wednesday through Monday in Nashville visiting Martin's sister and her family for Thanksgiving. It was about a 10 hour drive with stops so not too bad. We had a great time eating lots of good food, playing games, spending time outside in the cold weather, and watching a few movies. The first day we were there we made an apple pie for Thanksgiving dinner. It turned out to be pretty yummy!

Martin and Dan attended a hockey game on Thanksgiving night. They cleaned up the kitchen after the big meal and then headed to the game. It was the Nashville Predators against the Detroit Red Wings. Martin is a huge Red Wings fan so he was super excited. He wore a jersey and even brought one for Dan to wear, but Dan declined. Sadly, the Predators beat the Red Wings 3 to 2 and Martin got heckled quite a bit after the game. They had a great time though!
The Lonergans have an array of pets, including a blue-tongued skink. Ryan was very intrigued with the skink and watched anxiously as he was fed his own Thanksgiving meal.
We went to the park Friday morning. It was a great park, but only 37 degrees outside. After about 45 minutes, all of us adults were ready to leave. Ryan and Addi had a blast on the swings, all bundled up.
Saturday evening we had a fire in the backyard and roasted hot dogs and made smores. Here's Ryan and I enjoying the warmth of the fire.

We finished out our trip by stopping in Metropolis, Illinois for gas. It's the home of Superman. They advertise the largest statue of Superman that we decided deserved a visit. When we stopped to fill up the car, there were these cutouts in the parking lot of the gas station. So we took pictures behind them, while many people stared and giggled and decided that was good enough for the Superman visit.
We had a great weekend, thanks to the Lonergans. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Wow Mari, you look REALLY good! I wish I could look like that 5 months pregnant. But I guess we can't all be superheroes!
