Welcome Kate!!!

Tuesday night around 11:30 Mari started to have some contractions. She was having steady contractions since Thursday (our false labor trip to the hospital), but these ones were different and more intense. They started out at about 7 minutes apart and steadily got closer together and at about 1:30 am they were about 5 minutes apart. We called Martin's mom (Norma) to come over and stay with Ryan while we went to the hospital. In about 15 minutes the contractions went from 5 minutes to a very intense 3 minutes apart. Norma had car trouble so it seemed like an eternity before she made it to our home.

We finally headed off to the hospital and got there around 2:00 am. When they checked Mari she was dilated at 6 cm. After several hours of some very intense contractions and some serious pushing, at 5:45 am Mari delivered a healthy 8 lb 2.5 oz baby girl. Mari did a wonderful job and worked very hard during the delivery. I am so proud of her for all that she did. We named her Kate Leone Guenther. Kate is a blessing from our Heavenly Father and we are very excited to have her be a part of our family.

Kate is so cute and quite the little ham. She is chubby all over. Ryan was so excited to see Kate for the first time. He was so gentle and gave her "good pats...baby good pats" as he put it.

Truly a miracle and a blessing!
